•The Peace Bell at the United Nations in New York will ring at 1:48 a.m. Eastern Daylight Time -- the beginning of Spring in the Northern Hemisphere and the beginning of Fall in the Southern Hemisphere.  At the same moment (6:48 a.m., March 20, in Austria; 6:28 in New Zealand ) the Peace Bell at the United Nations in Vienna, Austria and in Christchurch, New Zealand will ring.

Radio and TV are requested to provide live coverage of the United Nations ceremonies so we can all participate.  The Equinox takes place at 5:48 Universal Time on March 20, 2008.  Please check local times to confirm the time of the Equinox at your location.
